Mulching your plants shows you really care about their well being!
We use rich organic brown colored mulch. Red is available upon pre-order request. Other mulches such as cypress (very light in color) and some color dyed mulches may look pretty too but are actually detrimental. The wood used to make those products is of poor quality that does not decompose well and builds up easier causing suffocation from both too much/too little water and not enough air transfer.
Proper mulching increases the soils ability to soak up rain water preventing runoff and slowing loss during dry weather. Mulching every year in spring helps maintain a balanced soil temperature during periods of temperature fluctuation.
Organic mulches provide a finished and maintained look to your landscape while enriching your soil as it decays. This means better plant health than when inorganic mulches (river rock) or none at all is used.
Consider yearly mulching a protection for your landscape investment!
